Dragons drop season finale

The Tiffin University volleyball team dropped their regular season finale 3-0 to the University of Findlay Oilers.

With a packed house, the Dragons and Oilers put on quite a show in the 1st set, with the teams playing 15 of the 25 points tied. An Alex Tozzie service ace brought the crowd to life, giving Tiffin a 23-22 lead. The Oilers, not rattled by the crowd, responded with three straight points to put the set on ice 25-23.

Findlay began the 2nd set like a house on fire, jumping out to a 7-2 lead before a Tiffin timeout. The Dragons played better after regrouping, but they were unable to get the offense going, falling 25-17.

In the final set, Tiffin showed great energy, plowing ahead to a 7-4 lead. Findlay responded with a 7-3 run to take an 11-10 lead. The Dragons could have thrown in the towel, but the resilient bunch ran off five straight points to lead 15-11. The set continued to go back and forth as neither side could gain a significant advantage. After surrendering their lead to the Oilers, Tiffin twice pulled to within a point of tying the score but were turned away by Findlay. Tiffin dropped the 3rd and final set of the season 25-23.

Kasey Adelsperger led Tiffin with seven kills. Emily Weithman finished with 27 assists, and Taylor Lattimore collected 24 digs.
