Francis finished second, just missing out on a national title. She tied Marisa Gwinner's school record with a mark of 1.79 meters (5-10.5 inches), taking the lead after her sixth jump. After two misses, Arika Robinson of Concordia-St. Paul cleared the same height to force a seventh round. Robinson then cleared 1.82 meters on her next leap to take the lead and eventually win the national title, as Francis could not match her after three attempts.
Francis, meanwhile, is now a three-time indoor and two-time outdoor All American in the high jump.
Gwinner placed third in the event, clearing 1.76 meters. Gwinner is now a four-time indoor and three-time outdoor All American in the event.
The two high jump finishes along with Brook Boes's All American finish in 4th place in the discus and a 9th place mark in women's shot put gave the Dragons four All American performances from three of their qualifiers. Boes had a throw of 14.42 meters to finish 9th, matching her season-best throw and landing her Second Team All American honors.
