Dragons land 5 first-place finishes in Andres Family Alumni Open

Tiffin University's women's track and field squad had five first-place finishes as the team opened its 2021-22 indoor season hosting the Andres Family Alumni Open.

Rajiah Andrews took first place in the 60 meter dash in 7.71 seconds, the lone champion in the sprints.

Ines Macadam won the mile in a school-record 5:03.50, while the 4x400 relay team also took first in 4:23.28.

TU had two more champs in the field events. Marisa Gwinner won the high jump with 1.75 meters, while C'airra Carter won the long jump with a leap of 5.19 meters.

TU also had numerous runner-up finishes. Julia Springer was second in the mile in 5:51.93, while Amirah Strauther was second in the 60 hurdles in 8.99 seconds. Sidney Richardson was runner-up in the 60 meter dash in 7.98, while Amaya Barnes was second in the 200 (27.80) and Ashlin Lindsey was second in the 800 (2:44.51).

Alaura Holycross took second in the weight throw with a toss of 16.79 meters, and De'Chanelle Goynes was second in the triple jump with 10.46 meters.
