Four Lady Dragons earn trip to NCAA Nationals

Four Tiffin University women's track and field athletes earned a trip to Allendale, Michigan for the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships.

The championships will be held May 27-29 at Grand Valley State University.

Marisa Gwinner and Mercedeez Francis both earned spots in the high jump competition. Gwinner leads the way ranked sixth in the nation in the high jump with 1.76 meters followed by Francis's mark of 1.73 meters, good for 13th. Gwinner is a four-time Nationals high jump qualifer and is the defending 2019 national champion in the outdoor high jump. She has earned four All American honors. Francis, meanwhile, has qualified twice for indoor Nationals and landed two All American honors. This is her first outdoor qualification.

Nicole Berry also landed a spot in the shot put, and is ranked 9th with 15.30 meters. She is now a five-time qualifer in the shot put, twice outdoors. She is a two-time indoor All American in the event.

Rajiah Andrews got the final spot in the 100 meter dash. Her time of 11.66 is 17th nationally. Andrews just missed in the 100 hurdles and is ranked 18th nationally. She is a three-time Nationals qualifer and has twice earned indoor All American honors in the 60 meter hurdles.
