Women’s Track & Field Sit in Second After Day 1 of GMAC Championships

The Tiffin University women's track & field team is in second place with 48 points after six events on day one of the GMAC Championship meet.

Findlay leads the women's event with 82 points, followed by TU and Hillsdale (45).

The Dragons fared well in the long jump as Jazilee Williams took first place with a leap of 5.68, Marisa Gwinner came in fourth with a jump of 5.42, and Rajiah Andrews finished sixth with a jump of 5.27. 

Williams also won another GMAC title in the pentathlon, totaling 3534 points to hit another provisional mark.

Nicole Berry took second place in the weight throw with a mark of 16.52 and teammate Ava Myers finished eighth with a throw of 14.96. 

Madeline Hayes came in third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.82, hitting an NCAA provisional mark, and Allison Abke finished seventh with a mark of 3.22. 

The quartet of Campbell, Fox, Springer and Macadam placed sixth in the 4000 distance medley relay with a time of 12:45.98. 

Competition will conclude on Feb. 27.
