The Tiffin Women's Track & Field squad returned to action today for a home meet at the Heminger Center.
Alaura Holycross took first place in the weight throw with a mark of 15.24. Mercedeez Francis finished first place in the high jump with a jump of 1.72 meters.
Field Events
- Seven Dragons competed in the weight throw, with two placing in the top five. Alaura Holycross took first place with a mark of 15.24 meters and teammate Christina Znidarsic finished third with a throw of 13.96 meters.
- Three Dragons finished in the top five in the shot put with Holycross leading the way throwing a mark of 12.07 meters to finish second, followed by Christina Znidarsic who placed third with a throw of 11.74 meters and lastly Jazilee Williams came in fourth with a throw of 11.49 meters.
- Tiffin came sixth and seventh in the long jump with Kamaria Shepard coming in sixth with a jump of 4.43 meters and Deona Davis finishing seventh with a leap of 4.43 meters.
- Tiffin took the top three spots in the high jump with Mercedeez Francis taking first place with a jump of 1.72 meters (an NCAA provisional mark), in second is Marisa Gwinner with a jump of 1.72 meters (an NCAA provisional mark) and finally Jazilee Williams took third with a leap of 1.62 meters.
- Three Dragons competed in the Pole Vault as Madeline Hayes took first with a mark of 3.83 meters, Allison Abke came in third with a mark of 3.08 meters and Lily Hollibaugh placed in fourth with a mark of 2.63 meters.
Distance Races
- Ines Macadam finished third in the mile run with a time of 5:24.91.
- Madison Fox took third in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:39.29.
- The Dragons finished second in the 4 x400 distance relay with a time of 4:30.19.
Sprint Races
- Jazilee Williams took second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.11.
- Rajiah Andrews came in second in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.99, Sidney Richardson placed fourth with a time of 8.03 and Nakyah Kennedy finished fifth with a time of 8.32.
- Nakyak Kennedy placed sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.26.
- The women's 4x400 relay team came in second with a time of 4:36.73.
Up next the Dragons head to Saginaw, Michigan on January 29th for a meet.
