Blair wins long jump title on day one of GLIAC Championships

Miaisha Blair was the lone champion for Tiffin University on day one of the GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Ashland, Ohio.

Blair won the long jump with a leap of 5.69 meters and was the highest finisher on the day for the women. Overall TU was in 5th place with 24 points. Grand Valley State led the field with 67 points, while Ashland had 51. Northern Michigan had 32 and Davenport was just in front of TU with 29.

Kirsten Camp finished 3rd overall in the heptathlon with 4485 points, while Jazilee Williams was right behind in 4th place as TU got solid points in the event.

Also getting points for TU were Maria Stoddard in the pole vault (7th with 3.07 meters) and Alexis Cloud (8th in javelin with 31.04 meters).

In preliminary action, Kristen Massey and Brittany Holbrook both qualified for the 100 meters. Massey was 5th in 12.10 and Holbrook was 6th. Emma Gielink advanced with a 6th place finish in the 100 hurdles in 14.59, and Massey also qualified in the 200 with an 8th place mark in 25.46.
