HILLSDALE, Mich. - In their first and only competition of the fall season, Tiffin women's tennis battled opponents from Walsh and host Hillsdale at the Charger Invitational on Saturday.
Anais Geslin, Abbie-Jade Riley, Juliette Sirgant, Shea Foster, Anna Makhneva, Alessandra Maganuco, Emily Sim, Bailey Young, Jacqueline Kamps, and Dominique Matich-Reynolds all took part in the invite for the Dragons.
Tiffin had a lot of success against Walsh in doubles, taking all three pairings against the Cavaliers. Geslin/Riley won 6-1, Sim/Sirgant took a 6-1 victory, and Matich-Reynolds/Foster won by a final of 7-6.
Maganuco/Makhneva were also able to pull out a close victory over Hillsdale in doubles, 7-6 (3), while Foster/Kamps won against Hillsdale 6-3.
The Dragons were victorious in three singles matches, with Sirgant earning two of those three wins. The senior defeated Walsh 6-7, 6-1, 10-4 before taking down Hillsdale 6-4, 6-4.
Geslin picked up the other singles win, taking the match 6-4, 6-1 over Walsh.
As mentioned, the invite was the only competition for the women this fall, as they now turn towards the spring season in a couple of months.
