Riley Ranked 19th in Midwest Region

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released their latest Division II regional singles and doubles rankings on Wednesday, and Tiffin's Abbie-Jade Riley was ranked 19th in singles in the Midwest Region.

Riley played nine singles matches in the fall and holds a 4-5 overall record, but each of the five losses were against tough competition including one to a Division I player as well as a back-and-forth, three set defeat to third-ranked Anna Novikova of Indianapolis in the round of 16 at ITA Regionals. Earlier at ITAs, Riley took down 11-seed AlexiAnn Drouin of Lake Superior State in straight sets.

The senior is also coming off of an impressive 2018-19 campaign that saw her earn First Team All-GMAC honors.

A total of 20 individuals and 10 pairings were ranked in the release, with Riley as the only player from a GMAC school ranked on the singles list. The GMAC also had one representative on the doubles list, with Walsh's Nicole Beidacki and Mercedes Fernandez taking the 10th and final spot.
