Women's Tennis Tied for Second in Preseason Poll

Tiffin University women's tennis has been picked in a tie for second in the 2019 G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour.

Prior to their inaugural venture into the G-MAC, the Dragons totaled 39 points to tie with Walsh, but the Cavaliers also earned one first-place vote. Hillsdale, the defending G-MAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions, sit atop the poll with 49 points and seven first-place votes.

Eight G-MAC schools sponsor women's tennis, and each team will play the other seven squads one time during the regular season. Tiffin's matchups against the two teams slotted ahead or next to them in the poll are both at home and come on March 24 (Walsh) and April 13 (Hillsdale).

Last season, the Chargers ran the table in regular season conference action with a perfect 7-0 record to earn the top spot in the G-MAC postseason before, as mentioned, winning the tournament title with a 5-1 win over 2-seed Walsh. Davis & Elkins finished third and Findlay fourth to round out the teams that made the conference postseason.

The Dragons finished third in the GLIAC last year and return two All-GLIAC performers in Emily Sim and Lauren Prince. They open their spring season on Friday, Feb. 1 with a match at Lewis University. For their complete schedule, click HERE.
