TU gets another regional win 8-1 over Bulldogs

Women's Tennis at Tiffin University has quietly become one of the most dominant programs on campus this fall semester. With an 8-1 thrashing of regionally ranked Ferris State on Sunday Tiffin University Women's Tennis improves to 9-1 on the season and 7-1 in the GLIAC, holding on to a #6 regional ranking.

The Dragons started off the match just like they did against Grand Valley, only slightly better. The Dragons were able to take all three doubles points against Ferris State to pull ahead 3-0 heading into singles. The Dragons started off strong with a win at 1st singles as Kaye and Nelhage continued their dominance with an 8-3 win over Teodora Stefanovic/Nika Hein. The Dragons' 2nd doubles team has looked much better over recent matches as Musina and Sim won yet again with an 8-4 win over Nicole Meylor/Amiena Houston. TU's 3rd doubles team of Rae Brozovich and Bianca Avram continued the doubles trend with an 8-6 win over Sydney Berens/Arien Kissinger.

Singles play favored the Dragons yet again as a traditionally strong singles playing team. Coach Conley instilled words of wisdom to his team and off they went, taking 5 of the 6 singles points to win the match. Caroline Nelhage dominated yet again with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Teodora Stefanovic while Adel Musina continued her strong play as of late with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Amiena Houston. The Dragons continued pushing despite the match already being won in their favor as Emily Sim showed again why her bid for Freshman of the year is quite valid with a quick 3rd singles win over Nicole Meylor 6-4, 6-2. 4th singles was a battle with Bianca Avram taking the match with a 5-7, 6-2, 11-9 victory over Arien Kissinger. Aimee Kaye had herself a match as well with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 victory at 5th singles over Silvia Verebes. TU's lone loss was Andrea Alaniz at 6th singles where she was defeated by Nicole Stay 6-0, 6-2.

The Dragons improve to 9-1 overall and 7-1 in the GLIAC while Ferris State falls to 5-3, 5-3 in the GLIAC. Tiffin's next match will be up in the Upper Peninsula as the Dragons travel to take on Michigan Tech and Lake Superior on the 15th and 16th.
