Dragons Shutout by No. 1 Ashland, 4-0

The Dragons (1-5-5, 1-4-3 G-MAC) hit the road for a matchup against the undefeated Ashland Eagles who are ranked number one overall in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll.

The Eagles showed why they are ranked as the top team in the country, holding Tiffin to just five total shots and two shots on goal for the match, all of which came in the first half.

The Dragons recorded the first two shots of the match. First an off-target shot from Kaelyn Harkness and then two minutes later, an effort from Ellie Aston which was headed for the bottom-left hand corner but was saved well by the Ashland goalie.

In the 17th minute, the Eagles took the lead from a corner and doubled the lead roughly two minutes later. The Dragons came ever so close to pulling a goal back when a shot from Kennedy Hollerbach ricocheted off the crossbar in the 27th minute.

The second half was unfortunately more of the same as Tiffin was unable to get off a single shot in the final 45 minutes, while Ashland added two more.

The Dragons will look to bounce back on Saturday, October 14th when they return home to face Cedarville in what will be a Pink Out Match in support of breast cancer awareness.
