The Tiffin University (0-1-3 overall, 0-0-1 G-MAC) women's soccer team battled Trevecca Nazarene (0-3-1, 0-0-1) to open G-MAC action on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

The match was end to end from the very beginning as each team had one shot within the first 12 minutes. TNU drew first blood in the 14th minute after an initial shot was blocked and the rebound effort was slotted into the bottom corner of the goal, gifting the Trojans a 1-0 lead.

Just before the half hour mark, Amanda Feury played a ball over to Kennedy Hollerbach who drove into the box and fired a shot at the near post past the opposing goalie to level the match at 1-1. The goal sparked the Dragons offensively as they continued to pressure the Trojans for the remainder of the half, however, it stayed 1-1 at the break.

Roughly six minutes into the second half, the Trojans scored to regain their lead. In the 59th minute, Feury received a pass from Tatum Bradley at the edge of the box who turned her defender and fired a shot from distance that soared over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net to equalize for Tiffin once again.

The Dragons controlled possession for much of the match, but TNU persisted with quick and effective counter attacks. Tiffin pushed heavily for a game-winning goal over the final 15 to 20 minutes of the match, even earning two corner kicks in the 87th and 88th minutes but were unable to take the lead as it ended in a draw.

Hollerbach opened her scoring account for the new season as well as her collegiate career. Feury scored her first goal of the season as well with a fabulous long-distance effort. The Dragons tallied five shots on goal in total, two of which came off the boot of freshman forward Dani Garner. Malea Nelson spent all 90 minutes between the sticks, recording two saves and collecting numerous dangerous corners and crosses.

Tiffin has just a one-day break before returning to the Paradiso Athletic Complex to take on Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday, September 16th at 12 p.m. in what will also be Senior Day.
