Women's Soccer Suffers 3-0 Defeat to Davenport

The Tiffin University women's soccer team suffered its first defeat of the 2023 season on Thursday afternoon, falling 3-0 to the hosting Panthers.

Davenport put the offensive pressure on as they outshot the Dragons 20-1 in total and 10-1 in shots on goal.

Tiffin recorded the first shot on goal of the game in the 11th minute, courtesy of Ellie Aston who delivered a shot towards the top-right hand corner of the goal which needed saving. The defense held strong for the first half hour, but eventually, the offensive pressure of the Panthers was too great as they scored two back-to-back goals. The first goal was scored in the 32nd minute by Madison Fant who doubled her goal tally and Davenport's lead just five minutes later.

Malea Nelson recorded a season-high seven saves in total, five of which came in the first half.

The Panthers recorded one last goal in the 82nd minute to seal the 3-0 victory.

The Dragons return home to face Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday, September 14th at 2:30 p.m. followed by Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday, September 16th which will also be Tiffin's Senior Day celebration.
