Dragons Edge Malone with Second Half Goal from Dickison

The Tiffin University women's soccer team edged Malone University 2-1 with a second half goal by Kristen Dickison.

The Dragons improve to 2-7-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the GMAC, while Malone dropped to 0-7-2 overall and 0-5-1 in the GMAC.

The first half was a battle between the two teams. Each got goal-scoring opportunities with the Dragons outshooting the Pioneers 9-6, each with five shots on target, and the Dragons had four corners compared to the Pioneers' three.

Emma Siler was the difference in the first 45 minutes as she scored her second goal in two games off a shot from Kristen Walker that gave the hosts a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, both teams took their goal-scoring chances with Malone scoring in the 64th minute of play to tie the game at 1-1. However, the Dragons rallied to score a beautiful goal off a cross from Kristen Walker to the head of Kristen Dickison to regain the lead 2-1.

The Pioneers' late surge gave them the advantage in shots 15 to 14 with the Pioneers getting seven on net compared to the Dragons' eight. Malone had more corner kick opportunities with nine while the Dragons only recorded four.

Molly Miller got the win in goal, improving to 2-4 this season. She played all 90 minutes with one goal against and recorded eight saves.
