Tiffin University (0-1) fought from behind to force overtime but could not pull out the victory, falling 2-1 to Lewis in their 2021 opener.

Lewis took a 1-0 lead on their first shot of the season, as Cali Havelka-Vanderplow scored in the 4th minute. Lewis allowed just two shots to the Dragons in the first half and led 1-0 at the break.

Tiffin made its only shot on goal in the game count in the 58th minute as Kristen Dickison scored an unassisted goal to equalize. TU mustered two more shots over the final 32 minutes of regulation but could not get a shot on the nets.

In overtime, TU's Tatum Bradley got a shot off in the 93rd minute but it was wide. One minute later, Melisa Hadzic gave Lewis the victory with the gamewinning goal.

Overall Lewis controlled the tempo with a 21-5 shot advantage. They also held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.

Molly Miller took the loss in the nets, making 8 saves over 94 minutes.
