Tiffin is still looking for their first victory of the season, but have been very close in conference play thus far with one tie and another defeat by just one goal. The latter came at Lake Erie on Sunday, when Lily Cady put the Dragons up 1-0 early but the Storm rallied with two first-half goals and held on for a 2-1 win. Tiffin outshot Lake Erie 10-5 on goal in the contest.
TU also faced Ursuline last week, falling 2-0 to the Arrows in a game that saw Nahomi Lopez set a career-high with 14 saves in goal.
Cady has scored the most goals on the team with two for four points on six shots. Sierra Besecker and Lauryn Grcic both have a goal and an assist for three points, while Leila Hannaoui has the other goal for Tiffin on the year.
Claudia Santillan leads the team and is tied for third in the conference with two assists.
In goal, Lopez has logged 613:17 minutes and has a 2.43 goals against average, .750 save percentage, and a GMAC-leading 51 saves.
Scouting the Trojans:
Trevecca opened the season with a tough nonconference slate, including facing a pair of ranked opponents, and entered GMAC play with a mark of 0-3-2. However, they have turned things around against the conference, going 2-1 in their first three games with wins over Kentucky Wesleyan and Cedarville and a loss to Ohio Dominican.
TNU's strength is on defense, as the Trojans are fourth in the conference with a 1.13 goals against average.
Annie Warner leads the squad with two goals and an assist on the year for five points on just four shots. Gigi Ariola, Kimberly Jobe, and Danyel Joy have all contributed one goal for Trevecca, while Abbigail Legg has a pair of assists.
Delayna Holman has been very good in goal for TNU, ranking fourth in the GMAC in both goals against average (1.06) and save percentage (.850) with one shutout.
Scouting the Panthers:
Kentucky Wesleyan is off to an 0-3 start in GMAC play and has been outscored in those contests 9-3. Most recently, they faced Cedarville on Saturday and fell after the Yellow Jackets broke a 1-1 halftime tie with what proved to be the game winning goal in the 50th minute.
Despite their poor start in the conference, Kentucky Wesleyan has the most goals per game of anyone this season at 3.0, helped by nonconference victories over Brescia (7-0) and Berea (6-1). They also lead the GMAC in assists (14) and points (50).
Junior Madisyn Hunt already has 10 goals to her credit along with three assists for a total of 23 points. The forward leads the nation in goals per game (1.67) and points per game (3.83), ranking fourth in total goals and total points. She had five goal in the win over Berea and three against Brescia, and has recorded a point in five of six games for the Panthers.
Kamryn Pulliam and Jasmine Perry also have two goals apiece, with Pulliam adding three assists to rank second on the team with seven points.
Taylor Rentchler has played all 540 minutes in goal for the Panthers, recording a 2.17 goals against average, 43 saves, and a .768 save percentage.
