Cardinals outrace Dragons 4-0

The Tiffin University women's soccer team had a rough second half, falling to the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals 4-0.
 
In the first half, the Cardinals held a commanding 10-0 shot advantage and an advantage of 3-0 in corner kicks over the Dragons. The Dragons had numerous chances in the offensive end but could not get off shots. Tiffin goalkeeper Shelby Haworth helped keep TU in the game, stopping 5 shots on the goal. 
 
The Cardinals turned up the pressure in the 2nd half. Saginaw Valley found its first goal in the 49th minute, as Molly Vanderhoff dribbled through the middle and shot the ball into the right corner. Later, in the 60th minute, Valentina Giambanco shot her own rebound ball into the net, giving the Cardinals 2-0 lead.
 
The referee blew the whistle in favor of the Cardinals for a penalty kick in the 79th minute and Kayla Trevino added another goal to make it 3-0.  Kylie Lukowski shot a 40-yard goal in the 88th minute for Saginaw Valley State, completing the scoring at 4-0. 
 
Overall, the Cardinals held a big shot advantage 22-4 and 6-2 on corner kicks. Dragons goalkeepers Shelby Haworth and  Nahomi Lopez saved 7 shots. 
 
The loss drops Tiffin to 1-10-1 overall.
