Dragons fall in home opener 3-2

After falling 2-1 in each of their first two games, Tiffin University looked to get a win on its ledger with its home opener against Charleston. The Eagles had other plans, however, as TU fell 3-2 in another close game.  
 
Charleston found the net in the 26th minute of the 1st half, as Keira Hill managed to score the first goal of the game with an assist by Claire Couturier.
 
In the next minute, the Dragons came up with their equalizer goal. Abby Morillon utilized the open shot chance and drove home her first goal of the season.
 
The intensity mounted with the score tied at 1-1. Charleston got their lead back with a goal from Kassandra Demps, assisted by Liberty Goater in the 40th minute of the 1st half. At the end of the 1st half, UC held a 10-7 advantage in shots and a 4-1 lead in corner kicks. Tiffin goalkeeper Shelby Haworth saved 6 shots on target.
 
The Dragons proceeded to send more shots towards Charleston's net in the second half, outshooting the Eagles 10-7 in the half. But UC added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute of the game from a penalty kick by Madison Hansen.
 
Tiffin got the deficit back to one goal with a long, arcing shot from Valerie Brown from outside the box in the 85th minute. 
 
Tiffin fired 17 shots in total, compared to 21 for Charleston. Both goalies saved 8 shots in total. Tiffin will be back in action on September 6 for their next home game against Lake Erie.
