Dragons shutout by Cardinals

The Tiffin University women's soccer team had a rough day in the state of Michigan, falling to the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals 5-0.

The goals came early and often for the Cardinals, scoring in the 13th minute, 40th minute, and the 43rd minute. In the 1st half, the Dragons' offense managed only two shots, compared to the 13 taken by Saginaw Valley State. Samantha Ortenzi was under siege throughout the half, making seven saves. 

The Cardinals continued to pad their lead, collecting a pair of goals in the 2nd half. The Tiffin University offense came to a grinding halt in the 2nd half, as the Dragons did not attempt a shot in the final 45:00 of action. 

In total, Saginaw Valley State racked up 23 shots and 12 corner kicks. The Dragons took two shots and didn't record a corner kick. Samantha Ortenzi played a little over 62 minutes, surrendering all five goals. 

The loss drops Tiffin to 1-3 overall. The Dragons will return home on Sunday for a non-conference matchup with Daemen College.
