Anthony Aniciete shined at the 2023 Southeast Open, taking first as Tiffin University's men's wrestling team opened its 2023-24 season.

Aniciete got the win in the 125-pound division, getting five wins to take the crown. He won 14-3 over Davidson, then pinned Tennessee-Chattanooga in 4:28. After a 4-2 win over Campbell and a 10-6 win over Ohio, he won the first-place match with a default in 3:16.

Max Shore also did well at 125, getting three wins. He beat T-C 13-3 and got another victory 13-4 over Franklin and Marshall. His other win was a 7-0 shutout of F&M.

Nolan Gessler also won three matches at 149 pounds. He had a 5-1 win over Life, a big 17-4 win over Roanoke, and a 9-2 victory over Franklin and Marshall.

Emiliano Arellano (157) got three wins. He outpointed Tiffin's Prince Smith 19-2, then nipped West Virginia 4-3 while also picking up a 5-2 sudden victory.

At 165, Jakob Hurley had a pin over VMI in 3:43 while also outpointing F&M 14-5 before also getting a forfeit victory over F&M.

Brayden Benson (174) had a 8-7 win over West Virginia and a 14-5 win over Roanoke, Evan Straub (184) beat Morgan State 3-2, Carson Steinmetz (174) defeated Maryland 9-5, Jacob Pail (149) got a 5-2 win over Limestone, and Iain Escobar got a pin over F&M in 2:11.
