Four Dragons in national stats; Bronne wraps up falls title

Hayden Bronne leads a quartet of Tiffin University wrestlers as the NCAA released its national statistical leaders.

Bronne wrapped up the NCAA Division II title in most falls, as Tiffin University prepares to head to the NCAA DII National Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota March 13-14. 

Bronne, the 2018 winner in DII for most falls, had two falls in NCAA Super Regional III and will take his 20 falls to the national championships with an insurmountable lead of six over AJ Cooper of Fort Hays State and seven over Tyler Lawley of Newman.

Nicholas Mason (197) remains tied for sixth overall with 11 pins, as he returned to action for the first time in two months at the Super Region 3 tourney. Mason won the region championship with a strong performance.  

Bronne and Trey Grine are amongst national leaders in the Most Dominant category.

Bronne (174) ranks 9th while Grine (157) is 10th in the Most Dominant category. Grine averages 3.90 points and Bronne 3.97. The leader is Greg Hilliard of Belmont Abbey at 4.74.

Richard Screptock (184) also makes his first appearance in the national rankings in the Tech Falls category, where he is tied for sixth with 6 overall. Ryan Vasbinder of McKendree leads the nation with 10 while four others are tied at 7.
