Tiffin University was off to a solid start at the 38th Annual Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis, with three Dragons guaranteed places while others continue to battle for spots on day two.

The event, which concludes Dec. 18, currently sees the Dragons 15th of 38 teams with 38 points. Two Dragons are into the semifinals, as 141 pounder Trey Grine and 285 pound Garrett Gray have yet to lose at the event.

Grine has posted wins of 16-0 and 15-6 over Adams State and Gannon before squeeking out a 6-4 decision over Findlay to reach thei Final Four. Gray, meanwhile, had a close 2-1 win over Ashland before posting falls in 21 seconds and 1:25 over Truman and Augustana.

Sam Viengmany also has guaranteed a place, getting 5-3 and 7-4 decisions over King and Upper Iowa while also posting a 16-14 sudden victory over Gannon. His lone loss was 11-0 against Lindsey Wilson.
