Garrett Gray had another strong showing at the 38th Annual Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis, winning the 285 pound championship, while the Dragons also had a number of other placers.

Tiffin, which finished 14th of 38 teams, benefited from another dominating performance from Gray. He had a close 2-1 win over Ashland before posting falls in 21 seconds and 1:25 over Truman and Augustana on day one. He then won the weight class with a fall in 1:49 over Upper Iowa and a 7-2 decision against Maryville.

Trey Grine also took 5th at 141 pounds. Grine posted wins of 16-0 and 15-6 over Adams State and Gannon before squeeking out a 6-4 decision over Findlay to reach the Final Four after day one. On day two, Grine fell to Maryville 8-2 and McKendree 11-1 before picking up a win via medical forfeit over Findlay

Sam Viengmany (157) finished in 8th place, getting 5-3 and 7-4 decisions over King and Upper Iowa while also posting a 16-14 sudden victory over Gannon. His lone loss on day one was 11-0 against Lindsey Wilson. On day two, he fell to Northern State 6-5 before getting pinned by Indianapolis in 0:38.

Other wins at the Classic came from Mike Screptock (149), who posted a 13-2 decision followed by a pin in 4:10 and a dramatic 3-1 score in sudden victory before falling in narrow 3-2 and 5-3 decisions. Chase Boyd (174) got two wins by 3-2 and 4-3 scores while also falling in close matches 5-1 and 6-4 in sudden victory. Jared Chambers (184) also had a 16-0 major decision.
