A rough second half cost Tiffin University (3-7, 2-1 GMAC) as Walsh handed TU its first conference loss of the season 13-11.

Trailing 4-1 with 12:41 left in the first half, Tiffin made its biggest run of the day, scoring six unanswered goals. Rylee Sutherland and Danielle Roberts both scored twice as TU vaulted ahead 7-4 as the half ended.

Walsh responded quickly in the second half, scoring three goals in the first 7:30 of the second half to tie the score 7-7. 

Roberts then scored two of the next three goals to push TU back ahead 10-8 but Walsh took control for good by scoring the next four goals. Leading 12-10, Sutherland scored a TU goal with 5:00 remaining to pull to within 12-11 but a late Walsh goal with 2:00 left secured the win.

Overall Walsh outshot TU 37-19 including a huge 23-4 edge in the second half. All of Tiffin's shots in the second half resulted in goals but TU could manage no other shots.

Turnovers also cost TU, as they had 21 to Walsh's 9, including a 12-2 disadvantage in the second half. TU held a 15-10 draw control edge but Walsh won the battle for ground balls 24-10.

Roberts scored 4 goals overall, with Sutherland netting 3 goals. Daniela Carey had a goal and assist with 6 draws, while Elle Hamilton, Leah Davis, and Isabella Piccione also scored one goal each.

Jenay Rennie took the loss in goal, making 15 saves.
