Tiffin University (1-3) kept the first half close but a late half surge and too many turnovers spelled doom, as Mercyhurst beat TU 19-9.

Tiffin got off on the wrong foot, getting outscored 5-1 over the first 13 minutes of the game. But the Dragons rallied for a 4-2 run highlighted by two goals by Elle Hamilton and goals by Danielle Roberts and Daniela Carey that brought TU to within 7-5 with 4:18 to play in the half.

Turnovers continued to plague the Dragons, though, as miscues led to three quick scores over the next 1:40 to push the Lakers' lead to 10-5 at halftime. Overall TU had 13 turnovers in each half for 26 total in the game.

Tiffin never got to within two goals over the remainder of the game. Carey and Hamilton both scored immediately in the second half to pull TU to within three goals, but the Lakers again responded with four straight goals to jump ahead 14-7 with 19:13 to play.

The Lakers outshot TU 39-17, consistently outshooting the Dragons by 11 shots in each half. They also held a 19-13 ground ball edge and controlled the draw controls 16-13 including 9-5 in the second half.

Hamilton finished with 4 goals, 7 ground balls, 5 draws, and 3 caused turnovers. Carey and Roberts each had 2 goals, while Emily Chapman also had a goal. Leah Davis also had 5 draw controls.

Alex Sklack took the loss in goal, making 14 saves over 60 minutes.
