Schumacher Shoots Four-Under to Take First

 

The Dragons continued with round two of the Bill Crabtree Invitational on Monday as Lisa Marie Schumacher shot a tournament-best 68 in round two, placing first overall.

As a team, Tiffin (325-315; 640) improved 10 strokes from round one to improve to ninth place overall, just one stroke behind Lewis in eighth. Ferris State won the tournament as a team, followed closely by Maryville.

Schumacher (72-68; 140) shot a tournament-low four-under-par, the next lowest score being a one-under-par (71). The tournament victory marks Schumacher's third of the year.

The next three Dragons all finished within four strokes of each other, starting with Jeanne Dolle (86-79; 165) who improved by seven strokes to finish in a tie for 45th.

She was followed closely by Abby Thompson (81-85; 166) who trailed by just one stroke in a tie for 47th and Jordan Van Meter (86-83; 169) a further three strokes behind in a tie for 54th.

The last two golfers for TU were Abby Davis (93-93; 186) in 82nd and Sydney Ott (100-90; 190) in 87th.
