Schumacher sets new 36-hole record as medalist at Champions of Women's Golf tourney

Lisa Marie Schumacher took medalist honors at the Champions of Women's Golf tournament in Columbus, Ohio, as Tiffin University finished 7th overall.

Schumacher shot rounds of 70 and 69 to finish with 139. Schumacher finished 7 strokes ahead of the runner-up golfer. Her 139 total also set a new 36-hole Tiffin record, topping her previous mark of 142 set at the G-MAC Championship last year. 

Overall the Dragons finished 7th of 14 teams with a 625 total. They fell off from their opening round score of 309 with a 316 in round two. Ohio Dominican won the event with 602, followed by Gannon with 604 and Glenville State with 617.

Abby Thompson was next for TU, shooting equal rounds of 79 for 158 (27th overall). Jordan Van Meter opened with 77 but fell back to 84 in round two for a 161 total.

Rounding out the field for TU were Jeanne Dolle with 167 (83-84), Alexis Zimmer with 171 (87-84), and Abby Davis with 187 (97-90).
