Schumacher Leads Champions of Women’s Golf Classic After Round 1

The Dragons traveled to Columbus, Ohio to take part in the Champions of Women's Golf tournament hosted by Ohio Dominican University at Champions Golf Course.

It is a two-day tournament that began Saturday morning and will conclude Sunday, September 17th.

Saturday consisted of the first round of play which saw the Dragons finish with two golfers in the top 20 including Lisa Marie Schumacher who currently leads all 90 golfers by two strokes after shooting an even par (70). As a team, Tiffin ends day one in fifth place out of a total of 14 teams.

Schumacher is followed by Jordan Van Meter who is currently tied for 14th place with a 77 in round one. Sophomore Abby Thompson sits in a tie for 27th, just two strokes behind Van Meter. Jeanne Dolle shot an 83 in round one and is tied for 53rd. Alexis Zimmer is tied for followed by Abby Davis in a tie for 84th with scores of 87 and 97 respectively.

The tournament continues tomorrow, with an opening tee time of 9 a.m.
