Interview with Coach Davidson

Tiffin University's women's golf team was ranked fifth in the latest WGCA East Region poll. Tiffin and Findlay were the lone GMAC schools represented in the poll, with the Oilers coming in second. A total of 14 different teams from the East Region (G-MAC, GLVC, GLIAC, NE-10) were ranked as the spring portion of the 2019-20 season gets ready to start.

"Our best ranking this fall was fifth in our Region (East) and 37th in the country. This is the best ranking in Division II that we have ever had." said coach Davidson.

"We already broke our school record twice this year in the fall. The first time was at the University of Indianapolis tournament with a 295 and then with a 292 at the Fall G-MAC Preview. We then tied our school record of 292 at the Ohio Dominican tournament. We won the Ohio Dominican and Davenport Invitational in the fall."

"Individually, we had Alexis Savage break our school record with shooting a 66 at the University of Indianapolis tournament and Emily Koehler shooting a 69 at the Ohio Dominican tournament. Amanda Johansson also won the Davenport Invitational as an individual."

When asked about this upcoming season and her goals for the team as spring approaches, coach Davidson said: "I am very proud of the hard work the team has put in over the fall and winter training. We came off a record-breaking spring of 2019, where we missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship by just eight strokes, to this past fall of continued record-breaking."

"As a team, we have seen what hard work and perseverance will do. We are looking forward to our first spring tournament over Spring Break and getting back outside to continue reaching our goals. One important thing for the team to also accomplish would be a 3.7 cumulative team GPA to earn the WGCA Academic Award, during 2018-2019 the Dragons were 14th-highest in all of Division II. Coach Davidson and her team are also looking to qualify for NCAA Regional Championship for third year in a row and make it to the NCAA Championship.
