Ngandu wins Midwest Region Championship

James Ngandu has already filled out as impressive resume while at Tiffin University with multiple wins and awards across his career and he added one more on Saturday.  Ngandu won the 2016 Midwest Regional held in Southern Indiana.  Ngandu posted an impressive time of 30:13.24 and an average mile time of 4.52/m.  Ngandu will advance to the NCAA National Championships on Nov. 19 at St. Leo, Florida. 

Other finishers for the Dragons were Trenton Yoder in 186th place with a time of 35:30.18, Adrian Perea-Adams in 194th place with a time of 36:02.99, Brandon O'linn in 207th place with a time of 37:08.44 and Daniel Maher in 209th place with a time of 37:46.97.

Tiffin as a team finished 29th of 31 teams with 219 runners in the event.

Tiffin University's Women's Cross Country Team had a number of individuals competing in the Midwest Regional as well. 

TU's top finisher was freshman Kaitlyn Mathews who finished in 190th place with a time of 25:38.25, while Sydney Schmidt followed her in 195th place with a time of 25:51.19. Rounding out the Dragons' field was Jordan Grzegorczy in 209th place with a time of 27:39.61.
