Tiffin University (10-1, 16th in Division II) came from behind to defeat Grand Valley State (ranked 38th) 4-3.

The Dragons fell behind 1-0 early by dropping two of the three doubles matches. Michael Gurtner/Matthew Telford posted the line victory 6-3, while Ruben Fonga/Matthew Weaver lost 6-4 and Gabriel de Oliveira/Cyrille Colomb fell 6-2.

The top three singles matches all went the Dragons' way via three-set victories. Fonga posted a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win, Gurtner pulled out a 7-6, 5-7, 6-0, and Matthew Telford came back to win 5-7, 7-5, 6-2. The deciding victory came from Maxime Navrotchi, who won 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Matthew Weaver fell 7-5, 6-4, while Colomb also lost 6-3, 6-4.
