Dragons Stymied by Cobras

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Tiffin men's tennis faced Coker University in the third match of their Spring Break trip on Tuesday, falling to the Cobras 5-2.

Nikita Parfenov/Michael Gurtner earned a tough 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, but two losses at the other doubles pairings gave the first point to Coker.

Parfenov came away with another win from the No. 1 position in singles, taking a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

Tiffin only managed one other singles win, though, and it came in an exciting fashion as Hugo Chatras won the first set at No. 4 by a 6-0 score before dropping set two 6-1. In the tiebreaker, Chatras was able to pull away for a 10-7 win to take the matchup.

Next up for the Dragons is a contest against Mt. St. Mary's tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
