Dragons Defeat Warriors, Pick Up First Win of 2020

Lexington, Ohio - Tiffin men's tennis defeated Indiana Tech 4-3 on Saturday to earn their first win of the 2020 spring season.

With the win, the Dragons improve to 1-3 on the year.

Nikita Parfenov and Michael Gurtner started the doubles matches with a tight 7-6 win, but Indiana Tech came back to win the other two doubles pairings to earn the point.

Tiffin bounced back in a big way in singles, though, as Parfenov earned a 7-5, 6-1 victory at No. 1 and Gurtner picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2.

Matthew Telford fell in a tough three-set match at No. 3, but Hugo Chatras rallied for a 6-1, 7-6 win at No. 4.

Gabriel de Oliveira earned Tiffin's fourth victory at No. 5, taking a 6-4, 6-4 win.

Next up for the men is a visit to Wayne State on Wednesday.
