OWENSBORO, Ky. - Tiffin men's tennis has advanced to the conference final after taking down 4-seed Walsh 4-2 in the semifinals of the GMAC Championship on Friday morning.

The Dragons will now battle 2-seed Findlay in the conference championship on Saturday morning at 9:30 AM CT/10:30 AM ET. When the two squads met during the regular season in Tiffin on April 7, TU swept the doubles matches before taking three of the first four singles for a 4-1 win.

In doubles action this morning, Hugo Chatras and Sorin Navrotchi got things started with a 6-0 victory at No. 3 to give TU the early advantage. Walsh took No. 2 doubles though, setting up an important finish in the No. 1 doubles pairing, where Toby Cutting and Nikita Parfenov grabbed a 6-3 victory to earn the doubles point for Tiffin.

Cutting backed that performance up quickly with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles, followed by Parfenov taking his No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-3 to put the Dragons up 3-0.

Down to their final point, the Cavaliers attempted a comeback, recording wins at both No. 1 and No. 5 to cut the Dragons lead to 3-2.

Navrotchi would put an end to the Walsh hopes, however, taking a hard-fought 7-6, 7-6 decision at No. 3 to give TU the 4-2 win and send the Dragons to the conference title match.

Chatras also competed at No. 6 singles, battling to 6-7, 6-5 before Navrotchi's win sealed the Dragon victory.
