TU opens GLIAC play with 6-3 victory

Tiffin University opened GLIAC play on the right foot, dispatching Lake Superior State 6-3. The Dragons improve to 10-4 overall, 1-0 in the GLIAC.

Tiffin took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. The team of Luis Ludena/Toby Cutting opened with a strong 8-2 win, while Elio Lezama Perez and Agustin Mangone teamed up to win 8-3. Sorin Navrotchi/Robert Reid lost in a hard-fought 8-5 match.

Mangone pulled out the day's toughest match, winning a three set war at third singles 5-7, 7-6, 10-6, while Lezama could not pull out his match, falling 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

TU's other singles wins were all in straight sets. Ludena won 6-4, 7-5 in the closest of these, while Cutting won 6-2, 6-1 and Navrotchi won 6-0, 6-1. Reid fell at sixth singles 6-2, 6-1.
