Wright shatters school record as Dragons finish 2nd at swim championships

Tiffin University finished 2nd of 9 teams at the GMAC/MEC Swim and Dive Championships, as Jordan Wright won the sole individual title for TU on the final day.

Findlay won the overall title with 1559 points while Tiffin held off Malone by 26 points. Tiffin totaled 1088 points with Malone right behind with 1062.

Wright won his second diving title of the tourney, totaling a school record 464.05 points in taking the gold medal. His efforts at the tourney garnered him GMAC/MEC Diver of the Year honors, while Head Coach Lukas Jachno was named GMAC/MEC Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Tiffin had three other runner-up finishes. Jonah Sumfleth was second in the 200 backstroke in 1:49.97, while Nick De Robles also took silver in the 1650 freestyle in 16:38.59. 

The 400 free relay team of Miguel Garcia, De Robles, Yun Hung Tan, and Sumfleth also finished second in 3:06.58.

Garcia posted a 4th place mark in the 200 backstroke in 1:50.70, while Tan (100 free in 46.99) and Aubin Dulin (200 breaststroke in 2:08.65) both finished 5th.

Tiffin's other top placers were Joseph Turley (9th in 1650 free in 17:31.59) and Nathan Marr (11th in 200 breaststroke in 2:11.78).
