Tiffin falls to Gannon in opening swim dual

Tiffin University traveled to Gannon for their opening swim meet of the season, with the men falling 152-106 and the women losing 211-29.

The men's squad were led by 8 first place finishes and a number of multiple event winners. Yun-Hung Tan won the 200 butterfly in 1:55.46 and the 100 freestyle in 47.92, while Jonah Sumfleth won the 50 freestyle in 21.60 and the 100 butterfly in 51.96.

Jan Suchan also won two events, taking the 100 backstroke in 50.74 and the 200 backstroke in 1:53.30. The 400 medley relay team of Suchan, Tan, Sumfleth, and Nathan Marr also won in 3:35.38. Jordan Wright also won the 1 meter dive with 264.55.

Marr placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.35 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.39, while Matthew LaPorte was runner-up in the 500 freestyle in 5:10.76. The 200 free relay of Sumfleth, Suchan, Tan, and Seth Tessmer were also second in 1:30.00.

For the women, Anastasiia Kvitchenko waas second in the 200 butterfly in 2:17.35 and the 200 IM in 2:19.73. Catie Gorton took second in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.66 and the 100 butterfly in 1:00.10.
