Swim team drops close races to Edinboro

Tiffin University's swimming and diving squads travelled to Edinboro University for a dual meet, with both teams falling just short of wins. The men fell 97-88 while the women lost 88-82.

In women's action, Olivia Salome and Anastasiia Kvitchenko both won multiple races. 

Salome took first in the 200 freestyle in 1:56.97, while also winning the 100 freestyle in 54.35. Kvitchenko, meanwhile, picked up wins in the 200 IM in 2:14.63 and the 200 butterfly in 2:11.02.

Other winners for the Lady Dragons included Wixie Lehman in the 500 freestyle (5:48.52) and Melinda Ulbrecht in the 200 breaststroke (2:41.4).

TU's Salome and Kvitchenko also teamed with Lehman and Mari Johnson to get the win in the 200 freestyle relay, posting a time of 1:44.31.

For the men, three Dragons posted multiple wins.

Matthew Laporte got wins in the 1000 freestyle in 10:10.96 and the 500 freestyle in 4:59.72. Lucas Merigue Bernardo won the 200 freestyle in 1:45.6 and the 100 freestyle in 48.2, while Petko Toromanov got victories in the 200 IM in 2:00.94 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.87.

James Keen also got a win in the 200 backstroke, posting a time of 1:59.94.
