Tiffin University's men's soccer team earned some top honors with the G-MAC awards.

Amara Kamara was named G-MAC Defensive Player of the Year as the G-MAC announced its men's soccer all-conference selections.

Rudy Brownell was also named G-MAC Coach of the Year after leading the team to its second consecutive regular season conference championship.

The Dragons had a total of four selections with three First Team nods. Defenders Kamara and Davide Frezzi were named to the First Team along with midfielder Kai Yamazaki. Zach Garcia was a Second Team pick at forward.

Kamara and Frezzi have led a defensive effort that ranks amongst the all-time best TU efforts. The team is allowing an average of just 3.3 shots on goal per game this year. This is second all-time for TU, which posted a 3.1 mark last season. According to available records dating back 22 seasons, only one other team has posted a sub-4.0 shots-on-goal average (2019, 3.6).

This also marks Frezzi's third straight All-G-MAC citation and his first time on the First Team. He has 2 goals and 6 assists for 10 points from the defender position, while Kamara 2 goals and an assist for 5 points.

This is also Yamazaki's second consecutive All-G-MAC honor, his first on the First Team.

Garcia has enjoyed his debut season with the Dragons, posting 4 goals and 2 assists for 10 points.

Brownell's honor recognizes the team's regular season championship after a 12-2-3 record including 10-1-3 in the conference. The team is currently ranked 20th in Division II. Under Brownell's direction, the team has been the G-MAC Regular Season Champion three times, G-MAC Tournament Champion twice, GLIAC Regular Season Champion three times, GLIAC Tournament Champion 4 times, and has had 6 NCAA Regional Appearances in the last nine years. All 11 of those conference regular season and tournament titles have come in 11 of the last 15 seasons.
