Tiffin University (8-1-2, 7-0-2 G-MAC) picked up two big second-half goals in a Midwest Region matchup at Ashland, winning 3-1.
The victory also kept the Dragons unbeaten in the conference and in sole possession of first place.
Tiffin opened scoring in the 23rd minute when Luke Alexander-Frost drove home a nice two-touch pass from Chewe Mukuka and Amara Kamara.
Ashland equalized quickly, as Vander Rocha scored on a pass from Rodrigo Fernandez in the 27th minute to knot the score 1-1 at halftime.
The game remained close until the 63rd minute when Mukuka scored an unassisted goal to put TU ahead to stay. The Dragons added an insurance goal just 3:00 later when Kamara took a pass from Davide Frezzi to make it 3-1.
TU's defense did its job once again, allowing just 4 shots on goal to the Eagles in the game.
TU goalkeeper Felix Graf was tested late, however, making all three of his saves over the final 4:00 of the game. Graf got the win in goal.
Overall TU outshot Ashland 17-13 but held a more commanding 10-4 edge on shots on goal.
TU now has another critical regional and conference battle at home on Oct. 14 when it takes on Cedarville at 2:30 pm at Paradiso Fields.
