Dragons face Walsh in GMAC Quarterfinals

Tiffin University (8-4-5, 6-4-4 GMAC) will face Walsh (10-5-3, 6-5-3) in the GMAC Quarterfinals at Paradiso Field Nov. 9 at 2 pm with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

Tiffin is seeded 4th while Walsh is 5th. The winner of this contest will take on the winner of Malone and top-seeded Lake Erie in the semifinals on Nov. 14.

The advancing quarterfinal winners will then compete on a neutral site in Dayton Nov. 14 and 16 for the remainder of the conference tournament, where a champion will be crowned on the turf field of Roger Glass Stadium at Chaminade Julienne High School.

Tiffin last faced the Cavaliers on Oct. 31, posting a 3-0 win at Canton.

For the season Tiffin and Walsh have been nearly identical offensively, with Tiffin scoring 36 goals and Walsh 33. Defensively Tiffin has proven stronger, allowing just 13 goals on the season to Walsh's 25.

Leading the Cavaliers is Dwight Van Dyke with 7 goals and an assist, while Myles Cornwall has also been strong with 6 goals and 7 assists. 

Other leaders for Walsh include Nathan Kett with 4 goals and an assist, Peyton Barnes with 3 goals and 2 assists, and goalkeeper Ethan Burawa with 57 saves and a 1.57 GAA.

For Tiffin, Leo Hasenstab has continued his strong scoring, leading the way with 12 goals and an assist, while Darren Appanah has 5 goals and 2 assists. 

Joel Daly has 4 goals and 3 assists, while Eduardo Carvalho and Caleb Gibbons each have 3 goals and 3 assists. Lukas Manneck leads the team with 6 assists.

Dylan Morris has a sterling 0.71 GAA with 51 saves on the season.
