Dragons in Top Three After Day One of Doc Spragg Invite

 

Following back-to-back tournament victories, the Dragons shot rounds of two and four-under-par to open the Doc Spragg Invite in Findlay, Ohio.

Tiffin (-6) sits in a tie for third place with Indianapolis, five strokes behind hosts Findlay (-11) and eight strokes behind first-place Grand Valley State (-14).

Sophomore Ryan Norkin (-4) leads the way for TU after rounds of 69 and 71, which puts him in a tie for seventh place overall. Mitchell Brassard (-3) trails by just one stroke with very consistent rounds of 70 and 71 and is tied for 11th.

Last tournament's first-place finisher and current G-MAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, Johan Widal (-1), shot an even par in round one and improved by one stroke in round two which places him tied for 23rd.

Rounding out the scoring for the Dragons is senior Matt Flynn (+2) who improved from a 75 in the first round to a 71 in round two, followed by Justin Hand (+10) with rounds of 75 and 79. The pair are tied for 44th and tied for 75th respectively.

The Doc Spragg Invite continues with the final round tomorrow morning as Tiffin looks to close in on first place.
