Dragons open strong with record-setting showings at Music City Invite

Tiffin University had a day for the record books at the first round of the Music City Invitational in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

The Dragons finished the day in first place with a new school-record low of 274 over 18 holes, shattering the old record of 276 set in 2016-17. Maryville was right behind with 279, followed by Lindenwood with 282.

Michael Weppernig joined in on the record-shattering performance by tying the single-round record with a low of 66, tying him for first on the day. Only three other Dragons' golfers have shot 66 (Brett Green twice in 2014-15, 2015-16, Noah Barth in 2017-18, and David Siegel in 2019-20).

Matt Flynn was third overall with his own blistering round of 67, and Nico Kyprian was 8th with 69. Noah Barth rounded out the top four with 72.

David Siegel also shot 74 while Garrett Kuppler finished as an individual with 77.
