Tiffin University (12-13, 9-8 G-MAC) won its third straight game, using strong shooting to contain Northwood 82-71.
The Dragons shot a blistering 58 percent from the floor in the game, including 66 percent in the second half, as they weathered a couple Timberwolves' runs for the victory.
Tied 27-27 in the first half, the Dragons put together a 12-2 run that pushed their lead to 39-29 with 2:30 remaining. They led at halftime 39-34.
Holding a 50-42 lead in the second half, Northwood put together a 9-2 run that pulled them to within 52-51. TU bounced right back, though, engineering a 10-2 run to go back up by 9 points. They led by as much as 12 in the second half and hit their free throws down the stretch to preserve the 11-point victory.
TU's defense also forced 16 Northwood turnovers, holding a 25-9 edge in points off turnovers. They also controlled the paint, outscoring NU 52-38 inside.
Wesley Jordan had a huge game inside, finishing with 24 points and 8 rebounds, while Joshua Rivers also had 21 points and 6 rebounds with a strong second half. Morgan Taylor finished with 13 points and 4 assists, while Ian Lopez added 8 points.
