TU picks up big G-MAC win 75-63 at Kentucky Wesleyan

Tiffin University (10-13, 7-8 G-MAC) picked up a big conference win 75-63 at Kentucky Wesleyan.

The win puts TU back into the 8th spot in the G-MAC standings, swapping places with the Panthers for the final playoff spot. 

The first half was close throughout, with the Panthers holding a slim 27-26 lead at the break. The tide turned significantly in the second half, however.

The Dragons turned up the defense, holding KWC to just 8 points over an 8:00 period while outscoring them 18-8 overall to push their lead to 9 points at 44-35.

The Dragons followed that up with another 18-9 burst that ballooned their lead to 62-44 with 5:00 left. The Panthers tried to claw their way back, but the Dragons hit their free throws and picked up the victory.

The Dragons held KWC to just 35 percent from the field including 7 for 28 from three-point land (25 percent). TU shot 45 percent from the floor and held a 17-3 edge in points off turnovers.

Joshua Rivers led the way with 18 points, while Wesley Jordan was tough in the paint with 17 points and 8 rebounds.

Ian Lopez added 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Trent Williams had 9 points. Morgan Taylor also had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
