Poor shooting sinks Dragons in 85-59 loss to Walsh

Tiffin University (10-16, 5-13 GMAC) never got on track from the field, falling to Walsh 85-59.

The Dragons battled with the Cavaliers over the first 12:00, trading the lead seven times and trailing just 28-24 with 8:00 left in the half. The Cavaliers then finished the half strong, going on a 19-7 run to take a big 47-31 halftime lead.

Walsh stayed hot throughout the opening 20 minutes, shooting 56 percent to Tiffin's 41 percent. A quick 7-2 burst at the start of the second half pushed their lead to 54-33 after the first 4:00, and the Dragons never got it closer. 

The Dragons shot just 36 percent from the floor in the game while Walsh finished at 53 percent. TU also managed to go 6 for 29 from three point (20.7 percent). Walsh outrebounded TU 41-30 and outscored them in the paint 42-22.

Trent Williams led the team with 15 points, while Morgan Taylor was the only other player in double figures with 14 points.

Wesley Jordan had 7 points, as did Devaughn Munson, while Dalaino Walker finished with 6 points and 5 rebounds.
