Dragons fall in OT thriller 82-79 at Kentucky Wesleyan

Tiffin University (9-14, 4-11 GMAC) put up a huge fight but came up short in overtime at Kentucky Wesleyan, falling 82-79.

The Panthers led by as much as 10 points throughout the first half but the Dragons kept it close and trailed just 39-33 at the half.

With KWC up 46-33, the Dragons made their move. They exploded for a 25-7 run that pushed their lead to 58-53 with 9:27 left in regulation.

The Panthers whittled away at the lead and tied it with a free throw with 6 seconds left. Tylin Lockett-Fuller had a shot at the end of regulation but his three-point shot came up just short as the game went to overtime.

In the bonus period, KWC put together a 5-0 run that gave them a 78-75 lead with 2:17 left. TU had a final shot trailing 81-79 with 20 seconds left, but a missed three-pointer with 6 seconds left sealed the Dragons' fate.

The Dragons had an off night from beyond the arc, hitting just 29 percent of their three-point attempts (8 for 27), while KWC hit 52 percent of their triples. The Panthers also held a 16-9 edge at the free throw line, a 40-34 lead in rebounds, and a 16-2 advantage off the bench.

Wesley Jordan had a massive night with 31 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Dragons, while Lockett-Fuller added 19 points with 5 assists. Dalaino Walker also hit double figures with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Morgan Taylor finished his night with 8 points and 5 assists.
