Strong second half leads TU to 85-67 victory

Tiffin University (8-14, 4-10 GMAC) used a strong second-half defense to take control over Trevecca Nazarene, winning 85-67.

TU held a slim lead for most of the first half, taking a 43-39 lead into the intermission. 

The second half was a different story, as, with TU leading 56-54 at the 15:00 mark, the Trojans did not score for the next 7:30. The Dragons went on a 16-1 run to put them up 72-55 with 5:23 remaining. The Dragons hit their free throws down the stretch to maintain their lead and shut the door.

TU held the Trojans to 15 percent lower field goal shooting in the second half (51 percent to 36 percent), while outscoring TNU at the line 17-4. TU also hit 14 three pointers and committed only 5 turnovers while forcing 14 TNU miscues.

Tylin Lockett-Fuller had a big game, tallying 25 points and going 7 for 10 from three point land. Morgan Taylor totaled 18 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and Wesley Jordan finished with 17 points and 5 rebounds, including 3 for 5 from downtown.

Trent Williams added 9 points and 4 steals, and Tanner Johnson put up 8 points with 9 rebounds.
