Dragons hit the court for three GMAC contests

The Tiffin University men's basketball team will play three GMAC contests this week.

The Dragons start the week with Trevecca Nazarene on Monday, Feb. 7 with a 3:00 p.m. game time in Gillmor. Then, the team travels to Kentucky to battle Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday, Feb. 10 with a 7:30 p.m. tip off. Tiffin closes out the week at Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday, Feb. 12 with a 5:00 p.m. start time.

Dragon Details:

The Dragons went 1-1 last week with a win over Ashland.

Morgan Taylor leads the team with 12.8 points shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from three-point range, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, and Trent Williams registers 11.9 points, shooting 36.3 percent from the field, and 32.6 percent from beyond the arc, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. Tanner Johnson averages 11.9 points shooting 44.6 percent from the field, and 44.6 percent from three-point territory, 5.3 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and leads the team in blocked shots with 10.  

 

Scouting the Trojans:

Last week the Trojans went 0-2 in conference play.

Trevecca's offense is led by CJ Penha who is averaging 20.1 points shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 10.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.75 steals, followed by Josh Price who is averaging 13.5 points shooting 37.9 percent from the field, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. Chis Rogers scores 8.9 points shooting 37.9 percent from the field, and 42.3 percent from beyond the arc, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

The Trojans lead the all-time series against the Dragons 3-2, with their last meeting coming on February 13, 2021 when the Trojans won 70-69.

 

Scouting the Panthers:

The Panthers went 0-2 last week in conference play against Walsh and Malone.

Kentucky Wesleyan's offense is led by Jordan Roland who is averaging 14.2 points shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from three-point territory, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 steals, Wyatt Battaile is second on the team in scoring averaging 13.3 points shooting 44.0 percent from the field, and 40 percent from beyond the arc, 6.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 0.9 steals, and Ben Sisson scores 10.0 points shooting 55.6 percent from the field, 6.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per game.
